eQ Homes goes BIG for kids as lead sponsor of charity golf tournament

“eQ Homes Big Tee Off” benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters returns September 12

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OTTAWA, ON, August 30, 2023 – Entering its third year, the annual charity golf tournament organized by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa (BBBSO) has a new name. eQ Homes has partnered with the non-profit as their event’s Title Sponsor, the largest commitment that could be made, with the eQ Homes Big Tee Off set to welcome business leaders at Stonebridge Golf Club on Tuesday, September 12.

“This is our most important fundraising event of the year,” said Susan Ingram, Executive Director of BBBSO. “We rely on the generosity of leaders like eQ Homes to help fund our programs, and we’re going to be able to help even more youth in the year ahead with this incredible support.”

BBBSO offers a variety of programs to local youth with a wide range of backgrounds and needs, including their flagship “Big Brother” and “Big Sister” mentoring programs, which pair caring adult volunteers with children to create meaningful relationships that often last a lifetime.

“I actually volunteered as a Big Brother many years ago,” said Josh Kardish, Senior Vice President of eQ Homes. “I can say from personal experience that it’s a wonderful opportunity for both the mentor and the mentree. The charity’s focus on fostering meaningful relationships fits really well with eQ’s goal of enriching lives and creating thriving communities.”

The two organizations are already exploring more ways they can work together year-round, including an innovative concept of showcasing careers in the trades to local youth who are considering their career paths.

“The event keeps growing year over year,” said Ingram. “It really warms the heart to see more corporate champions of our work than ever before, to match the need to support more youth in our growing city.

“It’s leaders like eQ Homes who help make Ottawa an even better place to grow up in.”
